Academic Discussion · Set 16

Fixed WeLearn practice with the published time limit for this task family. Your response stays in this browser.

Your professor is teaching a class on the workplace. Write a post responding to the professor's question. Contribute your own opinion and reasons, and add to the discussion.

Professor Dubois: Some companies have introduced a four-day working week without reducing pay, hoping to improve productivity and well-being. Do you think a four-day working week is a good idea? Why or why not?

Student (Leo): I think it's a great idea. People are often more focused and productive when they have more rest, and a shorter week improves work-life balance. For example, a company that switched to a four-day week reported that employees returned on Mondays feeling noticeably less exhausted.

Student (Amina): I'm not so sure. Some jobs, like healthcare, need people every day, and companies might just expect the same work in less time, adding stress. For example, a nurse still has to cover the same number of shifts regardless of how the office staff's schedule changes.

Write a response of at least 100 words. State your position clearly, give reasons and an example, and refer to a classmate's point where relevant.

The timer starts when you press the button. Submitting or reaching 00:00 closes the response; reloading does not reset the clock.
