The residents of Brookfield used to put recycling bags outside on different days, and the team often missed some streets. Last month, the council tested a clearer plan. Each street received a colour and a day. Blue streets put paper and cardboard outside on Monday, while green streets put glass and metal outside on Tuesday. A reminder card explained what could not go in the bags. After four weeks, fewer bags contained the wrong , but some residents said the colour system was at night. During the trial, whenever a bag was rejected, the team left a short note explaining the reason instead of simply leaving it on the pavement. The council will add brighter signs before deciding whether to keep the plan.
